HA2 Task 10 - Evaluation
During this task I have learnt many skills that will come in handy for both the future (if I decide to get a career in the media) and the work I am doing in the present. Some of it has been more challenging than other parts, however with help from tutors I have managed to finish it all.
At first I struggled a little with the work in HA1 as I had never come across some of the terms used in Motion Graphics before. After quite a bit of perseverence and hard work, I finally began to understand what I was writing about and this made it easier for me to complete the work to the best of my ability, and also helped me to understand that Motion Graphics really is important in the media and that learning about it now can only help me in my future career.
I preffered HA2 to HA1 as it allowed me to be a little more creative within my work instead of having a structure to how the work had to be done. I enjoyed learning how to use Adobe After Effects and this will (and already has) prove useful in the future.
I am happy with my finished Motion Graphic for The Sports Academy as it is the first piece of work I finished using After Effects and it helped me progress with other things too. I did however encounter some difficulties when making it. This was due to the fact that I had never used the software before and a lot of the technical things were new to me. With the help of tutors and classmates I managed to work out how to use it in the end. The hardest part of the whole process was having to do the same thing over and over again to avoid mistakes as it was my first time.
I thought creating a storyboard for my Motion Graphic before actually doing it on Adobe After Effects was a good idea. It helped to make things much more clear instead of just rushing into them and also helped to avoid mistakes which would of been made had I rushed into it without proper planning.
It also made making it easier and got it done a lot quicker. Having never used the software before I did find it a little hard to stick to some of my planned techniques.
To conclude, I have enjoyed doing both of these units. Even though at times they were hard and often tiresome, I know they will help me in the future as they have provided me with skills I wouldn't of gotten otherwise. It has also taught me that keeping to deadlines is extremely important if you do not want things to get on top of you as that makes the workload even harder.
